This Co-Prosperity Fair was held jointly with the 'Busan Brand Festa,' hosted by Busan Metropolitan City, from the 25th to the 27th for three days. The event aimed to hold purchase consultation meetings between large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and to share successful cases of mutual cooperation.
The Co-Prosperity Fair, which has been held since 2019, marks its 23rd edition this year and is recognized as a leading platform event for mutual growth. As part of collaboration with metropolitan governments to vitalize the regional economy and expand market access for local SMEs, the fair has promoted various forms of cooperation such as purchase consultation meetings between large corporations and SMEs, and consulting for SME support projects.
This year’s fair provided on-site consulting for participating SMEs on tailored support policies, including ESG support for partner companies, co-prosperity-type smart factory and startup/venture support, and technology protection support projects. The Busan Regional Public Procurement Service, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, and Busan Credit Guarantee Foundation also participated to introduce their SME support programs to local SMEs in Busan.
In particular, this fair saw participation from 96 companies, including large corporations, public institutions, and mid-sized enterprises, which conducted one-on-one purchase consultations with 174 SMEs. This resulted in 514 on-site consultations and a total purchase consultation amount of KRW 52.1 billion. In addition, Naver and Nongshim provided opportunities for SMEs to expand their sales channels and pursue strategic cooperation by holding sessions on their purchasing policies and entry criteria.
Kwak Jaewook, Director of Operations at the Commission, stated, "This Co-Prosperity Fair is not a one-off event, but a core platform for spreading the ecosystem of mutual growth between large corporations and SMEs," and added, "The Commission and local governments will continue to join forces to strengthen the capabilities of local SMEs and establish a sustainable cooperation structure."
