Gyeonggi Province Recruiting Members for Road Monitoring Team Until August 22, 2025
Gyeonggi Province will be recruiting members for the "Gyeonggi-do Road Monitoring Team," which is responsible for immediately reporting any road damage discovered, from July 28 to August 22, 2025.
To create safer and more comfortable roads, Gyeonggi Province established the "Gyeonggi-do Road Damage Reporter and Reward Regulation" in 2016, which allows anyone to report road damage. The province also operates the "Gyeonggi-do Road Monitoring Team System" to manage road damage situations more efficiently.
Members of the Gyeonggi-do Road Monitoring Team can report road damage discovered within the province using the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's "Road User Inconvenience Solution Service" app on their smartphones. Additionally, the reporting process is being systematized to allow taxi drivers to report road damage conveniently through the Tmoney card payment terminals installed in their taxis.
Eligibility for the Road Monitoring Team is divided into two categories: the general section and the taxi section, depending on function. For the general section, any adult aged 19 or older who uses roads in Gyeonggi Province may apply. For the taxi section, taxi drivers registered in the taxi information system, whose vehicles are equipped with either the T-300 or T-600 meter from Korea Smart Card (Tmoney), are eligible to report.
Anyone wishing to participate in the Road Monitoring Team can apply online by accessing the QR code in the recruitment announcement on the Gyeonggi Province website. Alternatively, applicants can fill out the application form (Gyeonggi-do Road Monitoring Team Application) attached to the announcement and submit it via email to the Gyeonggi Province Road Safety Division (7777@gg.go.kr).
Selected members of the Road Monitoring Team will serve for two years, from September 2025 to August 2027. To encourage active participation and instill a sense of pride among team members, the province plans to provide reporting rewards and present commendations from the governor to outstanding performers.
The Gyeonggi-do Road Monitoring Team was first launched in 2015 with taxi drivers who frequently use the roads. Since 2020, the platform has been expanded to include the general public. This recruitment expands eligibility so that not only Gyeonggi residents but also anyone who uses roads in Gyeonggi Province can participate as a monitoring team member. This expansion allows commuters in the metropolitan area, freight drivers, and anyone who uses Gyeonggi roads for various purposes to discover and actively report road damage.
Kang Sungseup, Director of Construction for Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The Gyeonggi-do Road Monitoring Team is a system that allows road users to conveniently report road damage discovered in their daily lives so that management agencies can quickly make repairs. We will continue to strive to create a safer road environment together with everyone."
