On July 28, Eugene Investment & Securities predicted that Koh Young would begin its full-scale overseas expansion, starting with shipments of medical robots for brain surgery to the United States.
Park Jongseon, a researcher at Eugene Investment & Securities, stated, "Koh Young will ship products to the United States by the end of this month," and explained, "Among the 1,437 advanced neurosurgery hospitals in the United States where medical robots for brain surgery can be sold, the company plans to target approximately 300 hospitals."
He added, "This year, it is expected that an additional four to five units can be supplied," and "The company is aiming to sell about 100 units within the next three years."
Researcher Park introduced, "Koh Young began developing robots in 2011 through a national project by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy," and "After obtaining domestic manufacturing certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in 2016, the company supplied its brain surgery robot, KYMERO, to Severance Hospital in October 2020."
He emphasized, "A total of 10 units have been supplied to institutions such as Samsung Seoul Hospital, Korea Institute of Science and Technology, Catholic University St. Vincent's Hospital, Catholic University Incheon St. Mary's Hospital, Seoul National University Hospital, Ewha Mokdong Hospital, Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital, Korea University Guro Hospital, and Gangnam Bedro Hospital."
Researcher Park analyzed, "On July 14, the second-generation brain surgery robot, Geniant Cranial, was installed at Severance Hospital in Korea," and "In September this year, a second brain surgery robot will be supplied to another domestic customer."
He continued, "Preparations for entry into Japan and China are also underway," and predicted, "Exports of brain surgery robots will begin to occur in part this year in countries such as the United States and Japan." Researcher Park emphasized that from next year, it will make a full-scale contribution to performance growth.
