Yecheon County Holds Two-Day Templestay for Youth at Yongmunsa Temple The youth-tailored templestay program "Somee Jeollo" held at the thousand-year-old Yongmunsa Temple concluded successfully.

This program was designed to provide rest and comfort to young men and women exhausted by the heat and repetitive daily routines, as well as to offer opportunities to form new connections. It attracted significant interest from the beginning of recruitment, and ultimately, a total of 30 participants?15 men and 15 women?took part in the event.

In addition to the basic templestay curriculum, participants engaged in a variety of activities such as making temple cuisine, crafting Buddhist prayer beads, and a couple-matching program. These experiences allowed them to interact and communicate in a space where nature and tradition coexist.

One participant expressed satisfaction, saying, "It was meaningful to escape the complexities of the city and get to know each other sincerely," and added, "Beyond simply meeting new people, I was able to find rest for my mind and a sense of leisure in life."

Ha Misook, Director of Planning and Budget at Yecheon County, stated, "I hope this templestay becomes a valuable opportunity for young people to reflect on themselves and listen to each other's stories," and added, "We will continue to discover and expand various communication programs that young people can relate to and participate in."

Based on feedback from this event's participants, Yecheon County plans to further expand youth-oriented programs that combine traditional culture with opportunities for exchange in the future.
