After President Lee's Criticism, SPC to Abolish Night Shifts Exceeding 8 Hours

SPC Group Announces Plan to Minimize Night Shifts
"Night production will be limited to essential items only"

On July 27, SPC Group announced that it held the 'SPC Committee,' a council of CEOs, and decided to limit night shifts for production workers to within 8 hours.

This decision came just two days after President Lee Jaemyung pointed out issues regarding night work and labor intensity during an on-site meeting held at the SPC Samlip Siwha Plant in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, on July 25.

SPC Group plans to minimize night production as much as possible, except for essential items due to product characteristics, and will gradually reduce factory operating hours.

Additionally, the company will gradually decrease daytime working hours to prevent cumulative fatigue, reduced concentration, and increased risk of accidents caused by long working hours.

An SPC Group official stated, "To eliminate night shifts exceeding 8 hours, we will completely overhaul our overall production structure by expanding our workforce, adjusting production items and volumes, and reorganizing production lines." The official added, "We will establish specific implementation plans for each affiliate and fully enforce these changes starting October 1."
