Free of Charge... Two-Stage Process Tailored to Each Company
The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has launched consulting services to support companies in their carbon reduction activities.
On July 27, KCCI announced that it is recruiting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies to participate in consulting on the utilization of renewable energy.
This consulting service will be provided free of charge and will be conducted in two stages tailored to each company's situation. In the first stage, on-site diagnostic consulting will examine each company's electricity usage patterns and power facilities to propose customized energy efficiency solutions. In the second stage, implementation strategy consulting will provide an execution roadmap for utilizing renewable energy.
Since 2023, KCCI has supported a total of 109 companies with consulting services, resulting in 11 cases of Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) purchases and 2 power purchase agreements (PPAs).
Cho Youngjun, Head of the KCCI Center for Sustainable Management, stated, "The new government is expected to expand renewable energy support policies, such as the creation of RE100 (100% renewable energy use) industrial complexes and the construction of an energy expressway." He added, "By operating the Corporate Renewable Energy Support Center, we will actively gather policy improvement suggestions and submit them to the government."
