Strengthening Global Security Competitiveness
Samsung Electronics announced on the 27th that it has obtained the Cyber Security Certification for the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) from TUV SUD, a German testing and certification institution. The company explained that this achievement further strengthens its global security competitiveness.
RED is a directive of the European Union (EU) concerning health and safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and the efficient use of radio frequencies. Starting in August, the EU will mandate compliance with RED requirements for products equipped with wireless network functions.

Samsung Electronics has enhanced its global security competitiveness by receiving certification that meets RED regulations for all 2025 TV and monitor product lines exported to Europe. In addition, Samsung Electronics is making efforts to comply with increasingly stringent global security requirements. Last year, the company's self-developed encryption module, CryptoCore, obtained the FIPS 140-3 international certification for cryptographic modules from the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Son Taeyong, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business Division, stated, "As the connectivity of various devices increases, the importance of security certification is becoming more prominent," and added, "We will introduce products equipped with security and technological excellence in the global market."
