30 Young People Participate, Sharing and Networking on the Theme of Free Dating
A New Model for Supporting Youth Settlement and Mutual Growth
The Yangsan Youth Center in Gyeongnam successfully held the youth exchange program 'Some in Yangsan! Cheongdam Palace' on July 26, aiming to support the formation of relationships among young people and help them settle in the local community.
This program was organized as part of Yangsan City's youth settlement policy. Its goal was to provide a 'dating venue' where young men and women in the area could naturally meet, share their values and thoughts, and create new connections.
A total of 30 young people (17 men and 13 women) participated in the event. The participants formed bonds by sharing their values and ideas through games and discussions themed around free dating, group cooking time (making chocolate), open conversations, and recreational activities.
In particular, this program was tailored to reflect the lifestyle and values of the 2030 generation. Participants had opportunities to communicate with a variety of people through rotation meetings and a personality and values-based matching system, and the final matching results supported free choice and conversation.
This approach was significant because it increased participant satisfaction and, beyond being a simple event, laid the foundation for the growth of the local youth community.
One participant shared, "It was beneficial to freely share thoughts and values about dating with young men and women from different backgrounds," adding, "It was meaningful as it provided a rare opportunity to make new connections that are not easily accessible in daily life."
Park Hyunkyung, head of the Yangsan Youth Center, stated, "Free and healthy encounters during youth are meaningful for understanding each other and growing together," and added, "I hope this program will provide practical help in forming social networks and settling in the region for young people."
This program went beyond simply providing a venue for meetings, demonstrating the potential as a model for local government youth welfare programs, and is expected to draw attention as a new case of exchange that can be benchmarked by other regions.
