A sinkhole occurred near the main branch of Lotte Department Store in Jung-gu, Seoul.
According to fire authorities, at approximately 9:49 p.m. on July 26, a sinkhole measuring about 50 centimeters in width and length and about 2 meters in depth appeared in the first lane of Namdaemun-ro, heading from the intersection in front of the Bank of Korea toward Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station.
The police are controlling traffic in two lanes in the direction where the sinkhole occurred and one lane in the opposite direction.
The Seobu Road Management Office plans to deploy an excavator to carry out restoration work.
