"It's Not the Time to Discuss a Maxwell Pardon"
U.S. President Donald Trump denied media reports that he had received a briefing from Attorney General Pam Bondi last May regarding files related to the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein (who died in 2019), which allegedly included Trump's name. Trump stated, "I was never briefed."
According to the White House press pool on the 25th (local time), President Trump made this statement in response to questions from reporters after arriving in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom, on the same day.
President Trump was also asked about the possibility of pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's former partner who was convicted as an accomplice in Epstein's sex crimes and is currently serving a 20-year sentence. He replied, "This is not the time to talk about pardons."
Just before leaving Washington that day, he had also stated regarding Maxwell's pardon, "It is something within my authority, but I have never considered it."
As suspicions arose among his supporters that the Trump administration was covering up Epstein's 'sex trafficking list,' Todd Blanche, former criminal defense attorney for President Trump and now Deputy Attorney General, stepped in to address the concerns and conducted a second consecutive day of interviews with Maxwell, who is currently incarcerated.
