A Variety of Programs Including Onggi and Fermentation Experiences and a Children's Humanities Concert
This event is part of the "2025 Our Hometown National Heritage Utilization Project," which is supported by the National Heritage Administration and Ulsan City and hosted and organized by Ulju County. The event aims to shed new light on the historical value and significance of Onggi, and features experiential programs that combine fermentation culture.
The August event offers a variety of programs for families visiting during the summer vacation, including the children's humanities concert "A Tour Around Onggi Village with the Dobutjangsu," Onggi artisan demonstrations and traditional kiln tunnel experiences, the game mission tour "Beat the Dobutjangsu," and making Onggi jar lid clocks.
The programs will be held once daily at 9:30 a.m. on August 16 and 17. The participation fee is 3,000 won, and each session is limited to 100 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration opens on August 2 through the Oegosan Onggi Village website.
An Ulju County official stated, "We hope visitors will enjoy traditional Onggi culture at Oegosan Onggi Village and feel pride in Ulju's Onggi artisans."
