Demand for Cooling Products That Lower Perceived Temperature Soars

Shinsegae International's lifestyle brand JAJU announced on July 25 that sales of its cooling products have surged significantly year-on-year from June to the present. In particular, sales of the cooling comforter, which provides an instant cooling sensation upon use, soared more than threefold (230%) compared to the same period last year.

JAJU's cooling bedding uses functional fabrics with a contact cooling index of 0.188 or higher, allowing users to feel cool the moment the material touches their skin. These products help regulate body temperature by quickly dissipating sweat and are available in a variety of items such as comforters, pads, and pillows, supporting restful sleep during the summer.

Summer underwear is also enjoying strong sales. This season, JAJU introduced a range of underwear made with functional materials such as cooling, mesh, and rayon. Among these, the 'Rayon Molded Bra' has become the top-selling underwear item at JAJU, gaining considerable popularity. It is characterized by its excellent moisture absorption and quick-drying properties, achieved through the use of pulp-derived rayon fabric and AeroCool functional yarn.

JAJU's 'Rapid Cooling Handy Fan,' often referred to as a portable air conditioner, is also receiving an explosive response. Immediately after its launch, it ranked first in the household goods category, and due to repeated sellouts and restocks, it is now on its third reorder. This product is equipped with a cooling pad using a Peltier device, providing a more immediate cooling effect than a standard fan.

During the same period, sales of summer pajamas increased by 23%. By utilizing highly breathable and moisture-absorbing materials such as seersucker and rayon, these pajamas offer a lightweight and cool wearing experience even in hot weather. Cooling hair care products that help lower scalp heat are also popular. The JAJU 'Pine Scalp Deep Clean Hair Line,' launched earlier this month, quickly became a top seller in all its product categories. Containing Jeju pine extract, it refreshes and cleanses irritated and congested scalps. In particular, the 'Pine Scalp Deep Clean Shampoo' has been proven to reduce scalp temperature by 4.9°C and odor by 71% after use, making it a standout scalp care product for a refreshing summer experience.
