Goheung County to Host 'Drone and Summer Sea' Summer Beach Festa

July 26-27 at Namyeol Sunrise Beach Area

On July 25, Goheung County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Youngmin) announced that it will host the '2025 Goheung Drone Summer Beach Festa' on July 26 and 27 at the Namyeol Sunrise Beach area, aiming to popularize the future food industry of drones and to boost tourism.


This festival is drawing attention as the nation’s first differentiated event that goes beyond simple exhibitions or hands-on experiences, offering unique content by combining drones, sports, the region’s natural marine resources, and tourism.

The festival will feature a variety of experiences and performances centered around drone soccer and a drone fishing competition. On the first day, July 26, a preliminary round of drone soccer will take place at a dedicated drone soccer stadium, with 16 teams from across the country participating. The finals will be held on July 27.


On the afternoon of July 26, a drone fishing competition will be held with a total of 50 teams competing in their drone fishing skills. Starting at 7 p.m., the opening ceremony will be followed by celebratory performances. The percussion group Anyapo, the dance team Afromenz, and popular singers Kim Kyungrok, Outsider, and Bae Kisung will take the stage.


After the performances, visitors can enjoy an LED drone goblin show and a drone light show featuring 700 drones, set against the backdrop of the night sea.


A county official stated, "We hope everyone will experience a special moment this hot summer, where the skies and seas of Goheung blend with drones," adding, "We expect this festival to serve as another opportunity for Goheung to leap forward as a hub of the drone industry and as an attractive tourist destination."


Meanwhile, Goheung County is holding a 700-drone swarm show every Saturday at 9 p.m. from April to October at Nokdong Port Marine Garden, and also hosting a fireworks show on the sea once a month, providing attractions for both residents and tourists and revitalizing the local economy.
