'Yeonmakchang,' a representative local gourmet brand in Daegu, is showing rapid growth by expanding to four locations, backed by strong support from the 'Dining Startup Keywordream Academy' operated by the Department of Hotel, Aviation, and Tourism at Yeungjin College (President Choi Jaeyoung).
This academy, operated with the full support of the Daegu City Hygiene Policy Division, is attracting attention as a model for revitalizing local startups. Through a practical entrepreneurship education program that combines theory and hands-on training, graduates have achieved real startup success.
The newly opened Yeonmakchang branch is the Chimsan-Goseong location. Including the existing Beomeo, Okpo, and Sinwolseong branches, there are now a total of four thriving locations. This is considered a representative example proving that the 'Dining Startup Keywordream Academy' goes beyond simple education to make a substantial contribution to strengthening practical entrepreneurial capabilities.
What is particularly noteworthy is that Yang Seungchan, the CEO leading the Yeonmakchang franchise headquarters, is currently serving as a startup mentor at the 'Dining Startup Keywordream Academy.'
Yang has generously shared his experience and know-how, offering practical advice to students and providing realistic solutions to problems they may encounter in the actual startup field.
Yang emphasized, "The most important factors in entrepreneurship are practical, reality-based education and reliable, trustworthy mentoring," adding, "Thanks to the academy's curriculum, which fully incorporates both elements, the startup success rate has increased noticeably."
Additionally, Yeonmakchang is not only focusing on brand growth but is also practicing coexistence with the local community. On August 4, as a special sponsor for the friendly match between Daegu FC and FC Barcelona at Daegu Stadium, Yeonmakchang contributed to this global sports event.
Through this, the company aims to enhance its status as a leading local dining brand while also promoting the local sports culture and providing enjoyment to the citizens of Daegu.
The recent growth of Yeonmakchang is being recognized as a model case in which local government, universities, and private companies collaborate to revitalize the local dining industry and support youth entrepreneurship, going beyond mere brand expansion. Furthermore, by actively supporting the sports sector, the company is significantly enhancing both its corporate social responsibility and brand value.
Lee Jaehun, professor in charge of the Dining Startup Keywordream Academy at Yeungjin College (Department of Hotel, Aviation, and Tourism), said, "This achievement is the result of hands-on education and a locally integrated startup support system," and added, "We will continue to strengthen practical entrepreneurship education and mentoring to actively support the success of young entrepreneurs."
