40,000 Bottles of Drinking Water Provided to Ulju-gun Residents
Korea Zinc contributed a total of 500 million won to the Community Chest of Korea and the National Disaster Relief Association to help residents in the affected areas quickly return to their daily lives after suffering severe hardship due to the heavy rainfall.
The Community Chest of Korea and the National Disaster Relief Association plan to use the donated funds from Korea Zinc to support recovery activities and emergency relief for disaster victims, as well as the provision of daily necessities and housing assistance in major areas hit by the heavy rainfall, including Gapyeong in Gyeonggi Province, Seosan and Yesan in South Chungcheong Province, Damyang in South Jeolla Province, Sancheong and Hapcheon in South Gyeongsang Province, and Ulju-gun in Ulsan.
In addition to the monetary donation, Korea Zinc also provided 40,000 bottles of drinking water to residents affected by water supply disruptions in Ulju-gun, Ulsan, where its business site is located. Previously, on July 23, Ulju-gun held a donation ceremony at the Ulju County Office to deliver relief supplies to residents in the western region affected by the water outage.
A Korea Zinc representative stated, "We extend our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives and their families due to the heavy rainfall, and we also offer our heartfelt sympathy to all disaster victims who lost their homes due to the sudden downpour. We sincerely hope that everyone affected by this heavy rainfall will not lose hope and will be able to return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
