The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education visited Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to conduct joint classes at high schools that have adopted Korean language courses and to engage in international exchange activities, such as donating traditional Hanbok to the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

The Hanbok donation ceremony held at the Royal University of Phnom Penh was jointly prepared by the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education and the traditional Hanbok-making organization 'Wooriot Saranghoe.' During the event, the Korean Education Center in Ho Chi Minh City also provided a dedicated wardrobe to store the donated Hanbok, supporting the spread of Korean culture.

The provincial office prepared and donated Hanbok featuring vibrant colors and traditional beauty. Students from the Korean Language Department at Phnom Penh University had the opportunity to try on the donated Hanbok themselves, experiencing the beauty and value of Korean traditional culture firsthand.

An official from the provincial office stated, "This donation goes beyond the simple delivery of items; it is significant in that it lays the foundation for Korean culture to take root and be continuously utilized in the local community."

Additionally, the provincial office visited three high schools in Phnom Penh that have adopted Korean language courses and conducted joint classes with local teachers on the theme of 'The Daily Life and Culture of Korean Youth.' The joint classes were designed through prior consultation and utilized student-centered activity materials to increase engagement. All classes were conducted in Korean, focusing not only on language learning but also on fostering cultural understanding through interactive and experiential activities.

The provincial office evaluated that these classes expanded opportunities for local students to use Korean, while also providing Cambodian teachers with a chance to share Jeonnam teachers' teaching methods and resources.

Kim Jongman, Director of Glocal Education Cooperation, stated, "The Hanbok donated to the Royal University of Phnom Penh is not just a piece of clothing but a symbol of respect for culture and friendship. Through these joint classes, teachers from Jeonnam and Cambodia shared the value of education and made a meaningful start toward creating a new model of cooperation in Korean language education."

This visit, as part of educational cooperation to promote the spread of the Korean language and culture, is expected to serve as an opportunity to further expand ongoing exchanges between the two countries in the future.
