Competency-Based Training Program to Be Operated
All Training Costs Fully Covered by Government Funding...
Open to Young People, Middle-Aged, and Other Diverse Groups
For the first time in Busan, a specialized training program for electric vehicle maintenance technicians will be fully launched to respond to the era of eco-friendly mobility.
The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Yang Jaesaeng) announced on July 24 that, through the Busan Regional Human Resources Development Committee operated by the Chamber, it will begin the "Electric Vehicle Maintenance Technician Training Program" starting in August.
This training program is a public-private-industry-local HRD committee cooperation model, based on a memorandum of understanding signed in April by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Kia, and AutoQ. It is a competency-based training program that reflects on-site demand in the field of electric vehicle maintenance, aiming to train 113 professional technical personnel who can be immediately deployed to industrial sites through local training institutions.
The main curriculum includes ▲ automobile engine and chassis maintenance ▲ inspection and repair of electrical and electronic systems ▲ diagnosis and inspection of electric vehicle defects, covering comprehensive practical maintenance skills.
Upon completion of the program, trainees can obtain the national technical qualification of "Industrial Engineer for Automobile Maintenance" through a separate assessment. In addition, those hired by AutoQ will receive the "In-house Technical Qualification Level 1" (recognition of two years of experience), providing a direct pathway to employment.
All training costs for participants are fully covered by government funding, and various support benefits are provided, including a monthly training incentive of 116,000 won and a special training allowance of up to 200,000 won per month. The program is open to a wide range of participants, including not only young people but also middle-aged individuals and those who have experienced career interruptions.
A representative from the Busan Regional Human Resources Development Committee stated, "This electric vehicle maintenance technician training program is an exemplary case of public-private-industry cooperation in response to carbon neutrality and the transition to the future mobility industry," and expressed expectations that "fostering practical talent will enhance the competitiveness of the local eco-friendly mobility industry and lead to the creation of high-quality jobs."
Applications for this training program can be submitted on the "Employment 24" website, and further details can be found on the websites of each training institution (Green Automobile Vocational School, Busan Automobile Vocational School).
