On-site Health Screenings...
All Costs Fully Covered by the Company
On July 24, CJ Logistics announced that the health screening participation rate among its delivery drivers has surpassed 80% this year.
CJ Logistics was the first in the industry to introduce a health screening program for delivery drivers in 2013, and the company fully covers all costs associated with the screenings.
CJ Logistics has increased the participation rate by implementing an "on-site health screening" program and operating without time restrictions. Professional medical institutions visit delivery sub-terminals nationwide, allowing delivery drivers to receive screenings without having to visit hospitals themselves. In addition, the company operates a flexible network of partner hospitals so that screenings can also be conducted on weekends and at night.
The screening items are tailored to the nature of delivery work. Gout and rheumatoid arthritis tests have been added to address joint strain caused by long hours of driving and repetitive tasks, and infection (CRP) tests are also included. Furthermore, tests for diseases that are difficult to diagnose early, such as liver fibrosis and liver cancer, have been incorporated to enable early detection and response to health abnormalities.
If any abnormal findings are detected after the screening, CJ Logistics provides consultations with medical staff from partner organizations and health management consulting. The company also fully covers the cost of additional detailed examinations for drivers who require them. Based on the screening results, CJ Logistics offers free programs for the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders and consultations for cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases.
For delivery drivers who are vulnerable to heat-related illnesses, CJ Logistics coordinates with each delivery station to temporarily adjust workloads during periods of extreme heat. If any signs of health problems are detected, drivers are allowed to stop working at their own discretion, and they are not held responsible for any resulting delivery delays.
A CJ Logistics representative stated, "Welfare should not simply exist in name only, but must actually function," and added, "We will fulfill our responsibility to create a safer and healthier working environment for delivery drivers, with a particular focus on health management during periods of extreme heat."
