The food industry continues to provide support for victims in areas affected by heavy rainfall.

According to the food industry on July 24, CJ donated 500 million won in relief funds through the National Disaster Relief Association. Its affiliate, CJ CheilJedang, provided emergency relief supplies consisting of about 10,000 products, including home meal replacement (HMR) items and snacks, to affected areas. CJ Foodville delivered 7,600 Tous Les Jours breads and beverages, and dispatched a volunteer group made up of CJ Foodville employees.
KT&G delivered 500 million won in relief funds to support the swift recovery of areas damaged by heavy rain and to help disaster victims. KT&G’s subsidiary, KGC Ginseng Corporation, is also providing Jeonggwanjang red ginseng products worth 100 million won to residents affected by the heavy rain.
SPC Group also delivered a total of 26,000 emergency relief supplies, including bread and bottled water, through the Korean Red Cross to disaster victims and relief workers affected by the heavy rainfall. This included 10,000 items to the Chungcheong and Honam regions on the 18th, 4,000 items to the Sancheong area in Gyeongnam on the 20th, 4,000 items to the Hapcheon area in Gyeongnam on the 21st, and 8,000 items to the Pocheon and Gapyeong areas in Gyeonggi on the 23rd.

Nongshim is providing emergency support by distributing 3,000 Emergency Food Packs, focusing on the central region, which has been severely affected by heavy rainfall. The Emergency Food Packs consist of ramen and Baeksansu bottled water and will be delivered to disaster victims staying in shelters, as well as firefighters and volunteers participating in recovery efforts. Nongshim Kellogg also provided emergency support equivalent to about 120,000 servings of food to affected areas in Chungcheong, Jeolla, and Yeongnam, as well as temporary shelters, through the Korea National Council on Social Welfare’s Food Bank under the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Dongwon Group is supporting about 90,000 relief items, including canned tuna, instant rice, ready-to-eat meals, and beverages. Dongwon Group plans to deliver these relief supplies through the National Disaster Relief Association and Save the Children, an international NGO for children’s rights. Ottogi also provided emergency support by delivering a total of about 40,000 easy-to-eat products, such as cup noodles and cup rice, to four areas: Sancheong-gun in Gyeongnam, Gapyeong-gun in Gyeonggi, Gwangju Metropolitan City, and Dangjin-si in Chungnam.
hy·Paldo Chairman Yoon Hojoong donated 200 million won to support flood victims, and at the company level, hy is delivering 8,000 health drinks, while Paldo is providing 6,300 instant noodle cups and 6,400 bottles of water. Dongseo Food donated 200 million won in relief funds and about 2,000 boxes of relief supplies to Happybean and the National Food Bank, respectively, to support recovery and victims in areas damaged by heavy rainfall.
Support for beverages, including bottled water, is also continuing. HiteJinro is providing 130,000 bottles of Seoksu 500ml bottled water to help residents in areas affected by flooding. The products will be delivered to Dangjin and Taean in Chungnam, and Sancheong in Gyeongnam, through the Community Chest of Korea. Kwangdong Pharmaceutical is also providing emergency support by delivering about 10,000 bottles of drinking water substitutes to affected areas nationwide, including Chungcheong, Jeolla, Gyeongsang, and Jeju, and plans to provide additional support as needed.
Binggrae plans to deliver about 60,000 of its beverage products through the Korean Red Cross to disaster victims in areas affected by heavy rainfall. Seoul Dairy Cooperative delivered 6,048 packs of Seoul Milk sterilized milk (200ml) as emergency relief supplies to support recovery and victims in the affected Gyeonggi region.
