Various Opening Events at Taehwagang National Garden on the 25th
This night market, themed "UNESCO World Heritage Bangudae Petroglyphs," will be more than just a marketplace. It will be designed as a complex tourism night market that combines culture, hands-on experiences, and nighttime scenery.
Through the opening of the "Ulsan Night Story Night Market," the city aims to support small business owners, revitalize the stagnant local commercial district, and create a nighttime attraction that both citizens and tourists can enjoy together.
The opening ceremony is expected to be attended by approximately 100 guests and citizens, including Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, National Assembly member Park Sungmin, the Ulsan Metropolitan Council leadership, the Jung-gu District Mayor, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry President, the Economic and Job Promotion Agency Director, the Small Business Association President, and officials from the Ulsan Culture and Tourism Foundation.
The event will begin with a pre-ceremony a cappella performance at 6:40 p.m., followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a fireworks performance, and congratulatory performances.
Notably, after the official ceremony ends at 7:30 p.m., a one-hour opening celebration performance featuring talented artists will be held, creating a summer night festival that all generations can enjoy together.
Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom stated, "The Story Night Market is not just a market, but a cultural space where citizens become the protagonists of the story," adding, "As an urban nighttime attraction, it is expected to breathe new vitality into Ulsan's nights."
The Story Night Market will be held every Friday and Saturday from July 18 to September 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., along the section from the Meeting Plaza to Wangbeodeul Madang within Taehwagang National Garden.
The night market will feature booths selling food and handmade crafts, a promotional booth for the World Heritage Bangudae Petroglyphs, various hands-on booths for children, photo zones, and food trucks.
