This fam tour has been organized to attract new tourists to Gijang, which has become more accessible due to the recent opening of the KTX Jungang Line and Donghae Line, and to revitalize tourism by developing unique local tourism content.

Approximately 20 participants, including officials from Korail's Busan-Gyeongnam and Gangwon branches, representatives from partner travel agencies, and influencers, will take part in the event. Over the course of two days and one night, they will visit major tourist attractions throughout Gijang.

The itinerary starts at Gijang Station and includes visits to scenic coastal views along the Gijang coastline, traditional markets, tourist landmarks, and opportunities to experience local cuisine. Based on the feedback from this fam tour, the county plans to work with Korail to develop railway-linked tourism products in earnest.

Additionally, the county plans to open a tourist information center at Gijang Station in the second half of the year and further expand railway tourism infrastructure linked to local content.

Governor Jung Jongbok stated, "By combining Gijang's natural resources and local characteristics with railway tourism, we aim to invigorate the local economy and tourism industry," adding, "I hope this fam tour will become a new turning point for tourism in Gijang."

Gijang County is home to a variety of attractions popular among both domestic and international tourists, including Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, which was selected as the number one tourist destination of interest among foreigners, the Gijang Hakri Village Wellness Center, Jukseong Dream Film Set, and the Osiria Tourism Complex.
