The TF plans to analyze changes in the shipping, port, and logistics industries and future trends, in order to explore new growth opportunities, especially as instability in customs and trade dispute supply chains continues.

Based on the analysis of government policy tasks and industry trends, the Policy Task Force will select three to four policy tasks for Yeosu Gwangyang Port. For each policy task, a working group will be formed, consisting of experts from the public and private sectors, academia, and research institutes, to review business feasibility and direction, and to establish detailed implementation plans.

It is known that the Authority is currently reviewing the introduction of AI for big data analysis in management and terminal operations, businesses related to eco-friendly ports, ships, and equipment, as well as eco-friendly energy storage, stockpiling, and distribution businesses linked to the Arctic route.

Hwang Hakbeom, Acting President, stated, "The establishment of this TF is part of a proactive organizational restructuring to address the challenges facing Yeosu Gwangyang Port, such as pioneering the Arctic route and expanding smart eco-friendly port infrastructure. We will do our utmost to achieve practical and sustainable future growth for Yeosu Gwangyang Port, create local jobs, and revitalize the regional economy."
