CEO Kim Personally Distributes Drinks and Inspects Rest Facilities
25,000 Cooling Sleeves and Cooling Masks Handed Out

Kim Heechul, CEO of Hanwha Ocean, inspected the shipyard site to check on the company's response to the heat wave and personally handed out cold drinks and cooling supplies to workers.

On July 23, Kim visited the Geoje plant in Gyeongnam to look after the health of on-site workers during the summer heat wave. He toured the rest areas in the production site and personally distributed drinks and cooling sleeves to workers, leading a campaign to prevent heat-related illnesses. At the site, he stated, "Above all, your health and safety are the most important," and added, "I hope you will put safety first and have a cool and healthy summer."

On this day, Kim, accompanied by key executives including Executive Vice President Lee Gilseop, Head of Manufacturing, inspected the rest area near Dock 1 on foot. He prepared a total of 25,000 cooling sleeves and cooling masks to help lower body temperature and personally distributed them to on-site workers, along with handing out refreshing drinks himself.

On the same day, a safety campaign to prevent heat-related illnesses was also conducted at the Geoje plant. New banners with messages such as "Even if the temperature rises, safety must not fall" were posted throughout the site. On-site facilities were also enhanced. More than 200 spot coolers (large portable air conditioners) were added, along with a total of about 1,220 cooling support devices, including air jackets, cooling machines, shade screens, and parasols.

This year, Hanwha Ocean introduced diversified support measures to eliminate 'blind spots' in heat wave protection. Notable measures include mobile air-conditioned buses and ice water delivery. On days of severe heat, the company also implemented a new flexible operation system that doubles the length of morning and afternoon breaks. Rest facilities were significantly expanded, with three times more temporary rest areas than last year, all equipped with air conditioners, water dispensers, and saline glucose. Nutritious meals, fresh fruit punch, and drinks are provided two to three times a week. All employees are given ice water along with coupons for ice cream and beverages.
