Integrity Like a Wave... Busan Port Authority Makes Joint Declaration to Eradicate Power Abuse

Five Public Institutions Pledge a Culture of Respect with "Cheongnyeom Wave"

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) held a "Joint Declaration Ceremony to Eradicate Power Abuse" on July 22, 2025, at the Busan International Finance Center (BIFC), attended by over 200 heads of public institutions and managerial-level employees affiliated with "Cheongnyeom Wave."

Cheongnyeom Wave is an ethical management council launched in June 2024 with the goal of sharing ethics and human rights management information and best practices among public institutions in the Busan region, as well as spreading a culture of integrity within the local community. Five organizations are participating: Busan Port Authority, Korea South-East Power Co., Ltd., Korea Asset Management Corporation, Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation, and Korea Fisheries Resources Agency.

The declaration ceremony began with a calligraphy performance centered on the theme of "eradicating power abuse." The heads of the affiliated organizations then adopted a joint declaration, expressing their commitment to fostering a fair and transparent organizational culture.

Following the ceremony, renowned lecturer Kim Mikyung delivered a special lecture on the theme of "eradicating power abuse." Kim emphasized the importance of communication and respect within organizations, as well as the value of healthy leadership.

Busan Port Authority plans to continue activities aimed at establishing an ethical and integrity-centered organizational culture, while also working to raise the level of integrity within the local community.

President Song Sanggeun stated, "With this joint declaration as a starting point, we will further strengthen ethical management cooperation among institutions and take the lead in realizing an organizational culture free from power abuse."
