Obigo Establishes Dedicated AI Division and Recruits Expert to Accelerate Mobility Physical AI Innovation

Obigo, a company specializing in Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) service platforms, announced on July 23 that it has established a dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) organization called the "Mobility AI Division" to realize its vision for the "Mobility Life AX (AI Transformation) Platform." Alongside this, Obigo has recruited Shin Sangwook, who previously led AI development at major domestic information and communication technology (ICT) companies such as SK Telecom and Samsung Electronics, as its new Chief Product Officer (CPO).

The Mobility AI Division at Obigo is an organization proactively driving the AI transformation of all aspects of vehicle use. It was established to innovate the entire business, including building AI-based platforms, developing Mobility Life AI services, and advancing the platform of its subsidiary, Carang.

Obigo plans to integrate AI technology into various content services such as Picknow and Pickle, analyzing vast amounts of user data including drivers' driving environments, content preferences, and usage patterns. Based on this analysis, the company aims to evolve its offerings into hyper-personalized services.

Additionally, Obigo plans to develop new mobility services that utilize vehicle data based on AI technology, providing users with a more convenient vehicle experience. In particular, the company intends to introduce a variety of AI services based on vehicle data, such as real-time vehicle analysis, AI-based predictive maintenance, and integrated vehicle management, thereby maximizing business synergy with its subsidiary Carang. Through these efforts, Obigo aims to deliver tangible benefits such as improved operational efficiency and cost reduction to both Carang's business-to-business (B2B) clients and general users.

Obigo is working to improve customer experience and operational efficiency through AI-based hyper-personalized services and advanced vehicle management. The company is also strengthening its capabilities in AI services across the entire vehicle lifecycle and in Physical AI, driving innovation to enhance convenience and satisfaction for drivers in real-world mobility environments. This AI-driven innovation is expected to play a crucial role in securing Obigo's future growth engines.

Shin Sangwook, Obigo's CPO, stated, "We plan to further advance our AI services so that users can directly experience convenience, enjoyment, and trust in real driving environments," adding, "I will contribute to Obigo's growth as a Mobility Life AX platform company that delivers a wide range of innovative services."

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, has previously stated, "The next frontier of AI is Physical AI," and predicted that "the added value will reach $50 trillion." In line with the SDV transformation and the growth of the connected car market, Obigo plans to continuously strengthen its Physical AI capabilities and lead the core services and innovative technologies of the future mobility industry.
