KBS Establishes 'AI Broadcasting Innovation Advisory Committee' Led by Chairperson Choi Eunsoo

On July 22, KBS announced that it had appointed the 'AI Broadcasting Innovation Advisory Committee,' a group of experts tasked with leading the era of artificial intelligence (AI) broadcasting innovation.

The AI Broadcasting Innovation Advisory Committee consists of six members: Choi Eunsoo, Distinguished Professor at Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies; Lee Geonhyeok, Professor of Journalism and Mass Communication at Changwon National University and incoming 27th President of the Korean Society for Journalism and Communication Studies; Koo Tae-eon, Head of the Tech Group at Law Firm LIN; Joo Jaegul, Professor at Kim Jaechul AI Graduate School at KAIST; Bae Soonmin, Head of KT AI Future Lab; and Yoon Hyeyoung, Head of the AI Policy Promotion Support Group at the Korean Society of Information Engineering and Technology. Choi Eunsoo was appointed as the chairperson of the committee.

KBS explained that the committee was established to formulate strategies and policies for the comprehensive AI transformation of its broadcasting system and to operate its organization in a manner suitable for the AI era.

The advisory committee members will be responsible for providing advice on AI-based content production, AI business and marketing, the current state of AI research and technology and ethics policies, as well as related legal and regulatory matters. The appointment term runs until June 30 of next year.
