54-hole stroke play over three days
Seunggu Kang and Sumin Oh aim for back-to-back victories in boys' and girls' divisions
The 42nd Blue One Cup Korea Junior Golf Championship will be held for three days starting July 23 at Blue One Yongin Country Club (par 72) in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
This tournament is co-hosted by Blue One and the Korea Golf Association. A total of 16 boys and 16 girls under the age of 12, 28 boys and 28 girls under the age of 15, and 44 boys and 44 girls under the age of 18 will compete. Based on the 36-hole rankings, only 9 boys and 9 girls under 12, 15 boys and 15 girls under 15, and 24 boys and 24 girls under 18 will advance to the final round. The final rankings will be determined by 54-hole stroke play.

In the boys' under-18 division, Seunggu Kang (Namseong High School, 2nd year) and in the girls' under-18 division, Sumin Oh (Shinseong High School, 2nd year) will each attempt to win the championship for a second consecutive year. Seunggu Kang continued his upward momentum by winning the 9th Bear Creek Cup Amateur Golf Championship on July 4. Last month, Sumin Oh achieved her second consecutive victory at the 49th Kang Mingoo Cup Korea Women's Amateur Golf Championship.
Since its inception in 1983, the Korea Junior Golf Championship has produced many of Korea's golf stars, including Seri Pak, Jiyai Shin, So Yeon Ryu, Hana Jang, Na Yeon Choi, Hyo Joo Kim, Jeongeun Lee6, Kyungtae Kim, Sungjae Im, and Siwoo Kim. In line with the wishes of Seyoung Yoon, the founder chairman of Taeyoung and SBS Media Group, Blue One has provided Blue One Yongin Country Club as the tournament course free of charge for four days each year since 2018.
