Students Injured and Killed in Crash During Class
The death toll from the crash of an Air Force training aircraft into a school in Bangladesh has risen to 31.

According to AP and other sources on July 22 (local time), Bangladeshi government authorities announced that a total of 31 people died in the crash the previous day, including 25 students, 1 teacher, and 1 pilot.
A total of 171 people, including students, suffered burns and were rescued from the scene. Of these, 88 are reportedly receiving treatment at hospitals. Local medical staff explained that the condition of about 20 of the injured is critical, so the number of fatalities may rise further.
The previous day, an F-7 BGI training aircraft belonging to the Bangladesh Air Force crashed into the campus of Milestone School and College, a K-12 school in the Uttara area north of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, during a routine training flight. The crash occurred while classes were in session, causing damage to the building and a fire, resulting in casualties among students.
The pilot aboard the aircraft was reportedly conducting his first solo flight during this training session. Local military authorities stated that they will investigate the cause of the crash. The Bangladeshi government declared the day of the accident a national day of mourning.
