This meeting was the first regular gathering of the "Gijang County Small and Medium Business Support Council," which was launched in November last year. Representatives from Gijang County, as well as leading companies and management organizations from 13 local industrial complexes, participated together.

The council was established with the goal of creating a business-friendly environment and providing practical support to companies. Governor Jung Jongbok serves as the honorary chairman.

The meeting was attended by 19 council members, including Governor Jung. A total of 15 proposals and cooperation items were discussed. Key agenda items included prioritizing the purchase of products from small and medium businesses, supporting breakfast for workers, installing shade structures in response to heatwaves, eradicating illegal activities within industrial complexes, and enacting or amending relevant ordinances. A variety of field-oriented opinions were presented.

Gijang County plans to continue discussing measures to lay the foundation for the growth of small and medium businesses through regular meetings in the first and second halves of the year. These measures include improving infrastructure for industrial complexes and businesses, identifying regulations that hinder business activities, and improving laws and systems.

The county announced its intention to actively seek feasible solutions for the proposals made at the meeting, after legal and institutional review by the relevant departments.

Governor Jung Jongbok emphasized, "If active investment by businesses does not continue, we cannot expect a recovery in domestic demand. We will focus all our efforts on improving infrastructure and easing regulations, not only to attract new businesses but also to support the settlement and growth of existing resident companies."
