Gyeonggi-do Human Resources Development Institute Conducts Policy Training for Taipei City Government Officials

The Gyeonggi-do Human Resources Development Institute is conducting a policy training program for Taipei City government officials from Taiwan until August 2, under the theme of "Public Services Utilizing Smart Cities and Artificial Intelligence."

Taipei City has sent a delegation of 15 government officials from sectors such as information, education, and firefighting, led by He Yajuan, Director of the Taipei City Civil Service Training Institute, to visit Gyeonggi-do for this training.

Through this program, the Gyeonggi-do Human Resources Development Institute will offer lectures on topics including Gyeonggi-do's artificial intelligence (AI) policies, the current status and application cases of AI adoption within the province, as well as the metaverse project and tourism initiatives.

In addition, the program includes site visits to the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly (Gyeonggi Maru), Suwon City Urban Safety Integrated Center, Pangyo Techno Valley, Imjingak, and Hwaseong Haenggung Palace.

This training program is being conducted under the "Agreement on Mutual Exchange Training for Government Officials," which was signed in 2017 between the Gyeonggi-do Human Resources Development Institute and the Taipei City Civil Service Training Institute.

The two institutions selected the training theme during a meeting of representatives held in March 2024 in Taipei City, aimed at expanding and strengthening exchange and cooperation.

In particular, following the resumption of mutual exchange training after COVID-19 in 2023, Taipei City has once again dispatched Director He as the head of the delegation for this year's program, representing the Taipei City Civil Service Training Institute, the city's official training organization.

Kim Jaehoon, Director of the Gyeonggi-do Human Resources Development Institute, stated, "I hope this training will provide Taipei City officials with a productive opportunity to explore the global trends of 'AI' and 'smart cities' together with Gyeonggi-do."

Meanwhile, Gyeonggi-do is promoting mutual exchange training programs for government officials not only with Taipei City, Taiwan, but also with five other regions, including Jiangsu and Shandong provinces in China, and the Dolnoslaskie region in Poland.
