Hongsung County participated in the 10th Korea International Tourism Expo held at Ilsan KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2, launching a promotional campaign to showcase the county's tourism attractions to a nationwide audience.
According to a county official, the international tourism expo was hosted by the KITS Organizing Committee and the Local Newspaper Association, and organized by Korea Exhibition Industry Co., Ltd. The large-scale event featured participation from 210 organizations and companies, including local governments from across the country, operating over 450 booths. The expo attracted significant attention from both domestic and international tourism industry professionals and visitors.
The tourism expo was held for four days from July 18 to July 21. During the event, the county focused on promoting the 'Global Barbecue Festival,' which is scheduled to take place from October 30 to November 2 this year. The Global Barbecue Festival is Hongsung's signature event, which drew an estimated 550,000 visitors last year according to the county's own statistics.
In particular, the county introduced several newly developed and increasingly popular tourist attractions, including the Namdang Port Marine Fountain Park, Namdang Port Net Adventure, Hongsung Sky Tower, and Sokdong Coastal Park. These sites attracted the attention of visitors looking to enjoy seaside travel during the summer vacation season.
Lee Eunyoung, head of the county's Sports and Tourism Department, stated, "Through the tourism expo, many visitors and industry professionals showed great interest in Hongsung's new tourism resources and festivals. As this year marks the Year of Visiting Hongsung County, we will do our utmost to attract even more tourists to Hongsung."
