Toss surpasses 2 million cumulative card issuances
Reward benefits and overseas usage are the main selection factors
Toss announced on July 22 that the cumulative number of cards issued has surpassed 2 million.
The company explained that the main keywords for card selection in the first half of the year were rewards and overseas usage.
More than 70% of users chose reward benefits over discounts.
It was reported that users preferred an annual fee of less than 10,000 won and a minimum payment requirement of less than 300,000 won.
The benefits were found to be focused on overseas usage. The company added that users mainly looked for cards that offer rewards for overseas travel.
The most issued cards in the first half of the year were the 'Toss Shinhan Card Mr.Life' credit card and the 'KB Kookmin Travelers' check card.
A Toss representative said, "From frugal spending in daily life to overseas travel, users are increasingly preferring practical benefits that suit their individual needs."
Toss has been providing a card comparison and recommendation service since 2018.
To commemorate surpassing 2 million cumulative card issuances, Toss is holding the '2 Million Won Lotto Event' in two rounds.
The first round runs from the previous day until July 26, and the second round will be held from July 27 to August 2.
More details can be found on the card issuance page within the Toss application.
