The Promotion Team is chaired by Heo Jinsu, CEO of Paris Croissant. The internal members include Do Seho, CEO of SPC Group, as well as the CEOs and executives from affiliates such as Paris Croissant, SPC Samlip, BR Korea, SPC GFS, Sectanine, and SPL, making a total of 10 members. Male and female representatives from the labor union have also joined as members to ensure that voices from the field are reflected in the direction of new changes. For the external member, Jang Sunghyun, Vice President (CMO) of IT and Marketing at Korean Air, has been appointed. Jang Sunghyun, formerly of global company Oracle, has expertise in various fields such as planning and marketing based on IT. He is expected to contribute to SPC Group's structural transformation, drawing on his experience leading management system innovation at Korean Air.
With the launch of the Promotion Team, three subcommittees were also formed: Safety System, Happy Workplace, and Compliance. The "Safety System Subcommittee" is chaired by Do Seho, CEO, and will work with external legal and industrial safety experts to establish a safety-centered system. The "Happy Workplace Subcommittee" is chaired by Song Youngsu, chairman of the Paris Croissant labor union, with Kim Saeun, vice chairwoman of the Paris Croissant labor union, also participating to seek ways to improve the working environment and restore trust between labor and management. The "Compliance Subcommittee" is chaired by Lee Seunghwan, head of compliance at Paris Croissant, and will promote systematic implementation of compliance management throughout the group.
At the first meeting, attended by Chairman Heo Jinsu and all members, the Promotion Team decided to recommend to the SPC Committee the prompt construction of a "Safety Smart Factory" (a factory with significantly enhanced safety through IoT technology) to strengthen safety management. A Safety Smart Factory refers to a production facility that ensures the safety of on-site workers by extensively adopting digital systems such as artificial intelligence (AI) technology, IoT sensors, and robots. To reduce the burden on existing factories, a plan was also proposed to transfer part of the production volume to this new factory, thereby reducing work and working hours. Improvements to shift systems for production workers, such as reducing night shifts, were also discussed. The SPC Committee plans to accept the Promotion Team's recommendations and develop concrete implementation measures.
Kim Saeun, vice chairwoman of the Paris Croissant labor union, said, "I have high expectations, as we can now discuss ways to create a happy workplace with the group’s management all gathered in one place," and added, "We will actively convey workers’ vivid opinions on workplace safety, working conditions, and employee welfare to the Promotion Team so that these can lead to real changes on the ground."
An SPC Group official stated, "The Change and Innovation Promotion Team will serve as a focal point for turning the group’s commitment to renewal and change into concrete action," emphasizing, "We will actively reflect voices from the field and advice from external experts, and boldly correct unreasonable practices or outdated work systems that do not keep up with the times."
