"Creating a Healthy City"... KCC Distributes Seoul Color Standard Collection

25 Colors Capturing Seoul's Identity
Developed Through KCC and Seoul Metropolitan Government Collaboration

KCC announced on July 22 that it has collaborated with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to produce and distribute the "Seoul Color Standard Collection."

The newly created color standard guide was designed to create a safer and more pleasant urban environment by reflecting not only safety considerations but also the aesthetics of the city and Seoul’s unique identity colors. In March, KCC and the Seoul Metropolitan Government signed a memorandum of understanding for the "Development and Dissemination of Seoul Standard Safety Design." Since then, the two parties have been working together to develop a color identity that can be shared with citizens and contribute to a comfortable and healthy urban environment.

The color standard guide features a total of 25 colors, including "Green Aurora," this year's Seoul Color and a trending color in the city; "Seoul Public Facility Standard Colors," developed through the "Standard Public Facility Development Project"; "Seoul Safety Light Colors," selected to enhance visibility and guide safe evacuation during emergencies; "Seoul Safety Colors," chosen to help recognize various hazards at industrial sites and prevent worker accidents; and "Seoul Representative Colors," which embody the city’s identity.

The colors included in the guide will be used in future government construction projects and public facility designs. For example, KCC’s phosphorescent paint "Lumisafe," selected as one of the Seoul Safety Light Colors, has already been applied in some tunnels to improve visibility and enable rapid evacuation in emergencies. In addition, the colors will be gradually applied to facilities throughout Seoul, such as kiosks and shoe repair stands.

A KCC representative stated, "Through our collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, we developed this color guide to help establish Seoul’s color identity and create an environment where technology and design coexist in harmony." The representative added, "We will continue to focus on technological development and partnerships to further enhance not only the city’s identity but also the quality of public design, especially in terms of safety."
