On July 21, Renault Group announced the appointment of Nicolas Paris as the new President and CEO of Renault Korea.
Nicolas Paris will officially assume his position on September 1. Stephan Debl?s, the current President, will move to become the CEO of Renault Group India on the same day.
Paris is an expert with over 20 years of experience in purchasing and technological innovation in the global automotive industry. After graduating from Reims Management School in France, he worked at global parts supplier ZF before joining Renault Group in 2015. He has since served as Vice President of A-segment Purchasing for the India subsidiary, Head of Innovation Lab Purchasing for the China subsidiary, and most recently as Vice President of Purchasing overseeing batteries, E-powertrains, ADAS, connectivity, and electronic components.
Renault Group expects Paris to lead a new phase of growth for Renault Korea, leveraging his experience in technology-driven purchasing strategies and the transition to electrification.
Stephan Debl?s has led Renault Korea since March 2022, expanding the company’s strategic role and spearheading structural improvements to secure long-term competitiveness.
He launched the new vehicle development initiative "Aurora Project" as part of Renault Group's "International Game Plan" strategy. The first model, Grand Koleos, was released in September last year and has sold over 45,000 units to date.
During Debl?s’s tenure, Renault Korea was designated as a key hub for the development and production of mid- and large-sized vehicles within Renault Group. The company also established a future-oriented production system by strategically reorganizing the R&D center, Renault Technology Korea, and upgrading the Busan plant to enable the production of internal combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles on a single line. Efforts to strengthen the brand included a company name change, logo renewal, and the opening of the Seongsu flagship store.
Renault Group stated that Debl?s’s appointment as CEO of Renault Group India reflects the company’s trust in his leadership, and also aligns with the group’s policy of designating India as a core strategic market.
Approximately 40,000 people work for Renault Group in India. Debl?s’s official term as CEO of Renault Group India will also begin on September 1.
