When Poetry Meets Food... Professor Yoon Taehwan of Kyungnam College of Information & Technology Publishes Food Art Digital Poetry Collection "Guseulguseul"

Professor Yoon Taehwan of the Department of Hotel Culinary Arts at Kyungnam College of Information & Technology has published a collection of digital poetry titled "Guseulguseul," which fuses cooking and poetry.

"Guseulguseul" is a pure Korean word meaning the appearance of well-cooked rice. The book consists of 50 food art digital poems that combine lyrical poetry with cooking photos collected by Professor Yoon over three years. By merging poetic language with the visual imagery of food photography, this collection is being recognized for pioneering a new realm within the digital poetry genre.

The included work "Sodam" was awarded the Newcomer Prize in the digital poetry category at the 370th edition of "Monthly Literary World," earning acclaim for its artistic merit.

Professor Yoon is a certified Korean master chef and a master instructor for culinary skills in Busan. He made his literary debut in 2025 through "Monthly Literary World." As a first-class certified digital poetry creator, he currently serves as vice president of the Busan Digital Poetry Association.

Poet Cheon Yunghui, deputy editor of the quarterly "Digital Poetry," commented, "'Guseulguseul' is a new artistic genre that delicately captures food and life by blending the unique sentiment of pure Korean language, visual imagery, and poetic language."

Jung Yuji, president of the Busan Digital Poetry Association, emphasized, "This is a meaningful achievement that expands the possibilities for the globalization of digital Korean content."
