This donation involves participation from eight affiliated companies, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDS, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, and Samsung C&T.
Samsung will also provide 1,000 emergency relief kits containing daily necessities and 300 residential tents for people displaced and living in temporary shelters.
Since July 18, Samsung Electronics Service has dispatched a special flood damage recovery team to offer free inspections of home appliances and mobile phones. In areas with concentrated flood damage, service engineers are visiting affected households directly. Samsung Card is offering financial support to customers impacted by the heavy rains. Customers affected by the heavy rains will be able to defer credit card payments for up to six months for transactions made between July and September 2025, and will be allowed to pay the deferred amounts in interest-free installments for up to six months.
In addition, Samsung will reduce card loan interest rates for affected customers by up to 30 percent, and for long-term card loans maturing by September, will extend the maturity dates.
Samsung has consistently participated in social efforts to overcome crises whenever large-scale natural disasters occur both domestically and internationally. Earlier this year, during the wildfires in North Gyeongsang, South Gyeongsang, and Ulsan, Samsung donated 3 billion won in relief funds and home appliances worth 1 billion won, provided emergency relief kits, and offered free inspections for water-damaged appliances.
