In order to ensure the rapid recovery of educational sites in Dangjin, Chungnam, which suffered significant damage due to record-breaking heavy rain, more than 20 employees from the Chungnam Provincial Office of Education worked tirelessly on-site to restore the affected areas. On July 17, the region experienced an average cumulative rainfall of 377.4 mm due to torrential downpours, resulting in extensive property damage, including flooded homes and businesses, damaged roads, and crop losses. The educational facilities in the area also sustained severe damage.

In particular, Yongyeon Kindergarten and the Early Childhood Experience Education Center in Dangjin City suffered damage not only to their playgrounds but also inside the main buildings, as rainwater entered and damaged a large number of educational materials and equipment. Additionally, some facilities were destroyed by soil and debris that flowed in from a nearby mountain, rendering normal school operations impossible.

On this day, the Office of Education dispatched employees to Yongyeon Kindergarten and the Early Childhood Experience Education Center to carry out emergency recovery work. Their goal was to restore the educational facilities as quickly as possible and minimize disruption to school operations.

An official stated, "After quickly assessing the damage, we carried out emergency recovery work with the staff, including sorting out water-damaged items and removing remaining contaminants. We plan to continue providing on-site support and administrative assistance according to the progress of the restoration." The official added, "The damage to educational sites in the Dangjin area is extremely serious. The Office of Education will take the lead in completing the recovery as soon as possible and will focus all administrative resources to ensure that students can return to stable educational activities as quickly as possible."
