The Gwangju City Council, led by Chairperson Shin Sujeong, visited the Jisan Strawberry Collection Center area in Geonkundong on the 21st to carry out flood recovery activities after the area was damaged by recent heavy rainfall.

This on-site support was organized by the council to provide prompt recovery assistance and inspect the situation on the ground, following flooding and facility damage caused by record-breaking torrential rains in the Gwangju area from the 17th to the 19th.

More than 20 staff members from the council's secretariat, including Chairperson Shin Sujeong, participated in the flood recovery support, assisting with restoration work in the affected area and supporting local residents. Wearing boots and gloves, they engaged in recovery activities such as repairing access roads and clearing debris left by the flooding.

Before beginning the recovery work, the council listened to reports on the extent of the damage, checked the status of manpower and equipment support for flood recovery, and encouraged affected residents. The council announced plans to continue providing on-site support by deploying secretariat personnel if there are additional requests for recovery assistance in the future.

Chairperson Shin Sujeong stated, "The council will participate in recovery efforts to ensure the safety of citizens and the return to daily life," and added, "We will continue to listen to voices from the field so that the council can play a practical role in disaster response."
