The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Eunhee Kang) held a commemorative council meeting at 11:00 a.m. on July 21 in Yeominsil to mark the 2nd anniversary of the declaration of the "We Trust, We Join, Our School" Citizen Agreement.
The "Da:Happy Daegu Education Campaign" is a movement initiated by the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education in 2023 to promote a mature mindset in civil society that prioritizes "us" over "me" for the spread of education that brings happiness to everyone. Thirty-three organizations have signed agreements with the Office of Education and are actively participating in this initiative.
Eunhee Kang, Superintendent of Daegu Education, and representatives of 33 educational communities in the Daegu area gathered at Hanjarae to hold a commemorative council meeting for the 2nd anniversary of the Citizen Agreement, followed by a commemorative photo session.
This council meeting, held under the theme "Governance Together, Connecting the Future Through Cooperation," was organized to share the achievements of the campaign over the past two years and to discuss ways to further spread a sustainable school culture based on educational communities in the future.
Superintendent Eunhee Kang, the Director of Education, and other officials from the Office of Education, along with the heads of the 33 organizations participating in the Citizen Agreement, attended the meeting. Over the course of two hours, the meeting included a report on the campaign's progress, an introduction to the sustainable family community project, a roundtable discussion among participating organizations, and exploration of cooperation strategies. The main focus was on discussing ways for schools and local communities to collaborate in transforming into an inclusive community based on trust, participation, and empathy.
One attendee remarked, "I am pleased to participate as a member of the local community, and I will actively participate in and support the Office of Education's initiatives, including emotional education for our children and sustainable family community education, as a member of the educational community."
Superintendent Eunhee Kang stated, "The Da:Happy Daegu Education Campaign will become the central pillar of Daegu education, creating an educational ecosystem where everyone becomes a positive supporter," and added, "We will continue to work closely with partner organizations to realize education that unlocks everyone's potential."
