Flew to London to Learn at Vidal Sassoon... Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Hair Beauty Department Completes UK Academy Training

Students from the Department of Hair Beauty at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology have returned after completing a major training program at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, United Kingdom.

Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Youngdo) announced on July 21 that eight second-year students from the Department of Hair Beauty completed a hands-on professional training course at the Vidal Sassoon Academy from June 29 to July 8. The program was conducted as part of the Junior College Innovation Support Project, and the university fully covered the training expenses of approximately 5 million KRW per student.

The participating students learned cutting techniques and practical styling through the ABC+ course, and visited the AVEDA hair salon located in Covent Garden, London, to experience the local beauty system firsthand.

Kim Taeyoung, head of the department, said, "At the Vidal Sassoon Academy, classes are conducted using real models, which allows for highly practical training. This training program has become an opportunity for students to develop both their practical skills and global sensibility."

Ha Kyungmin, one of the participating students, shared, "By applying the basics and applications of cutting to real models, I gained confidence and also felt a sense of pride in the scholarship support provided by the school."

The Department of Hair Beauty at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology plans to jointly operate the NVQ Hairdressing Level 3 program with Capital City College in the United Kingdom starting in 2026. The school announced its intention to provide students with education that will enable them to acquire internationally recognized beauty qualifications and develop global competencies through this program.
