Nakdong River's Samnak, Hwamyeong, Daejeo, and Mcdosengtae Ecological Parks in Full Bloom
Zinnias, Yellow Cosmos, Hydrangeas, Water Lilies, and Lotus Flowers...
A sea of summer flowers has burst into full bloom in Busan.
The Nakdong River Management Headquarters of Busan City announced on July 21 that the summer flower fields in the areas of Samnak, Hwamyeong, Daejeo, and Mcdosengtae Ecological Parks have begun to bloom, allowing visitors to enjoy a variety of summer flowers within the city.
The headquarters sowed summer flowers such as zinnias and yellow cosmos in 13 ecological parks last May, and as these flowers have recently come into full bloom, the parks are now awash in vibrant colors.
At Hwamyeong Ecological Park, zinnias line the management road, while yellow cosmos bloom brightly around the lotus pond. If you cross the Dongwonjin Bridge and follow the metasequoia path, you can also see pure white hydrangeas. Near the traditional play yard, a newly created 11,000-square-meter Kochia field, established this spring, blends with cosmos to create a unique landscape.
At Samnak Ecological Park, visitors can enjoy various perennial herbaceous flowers such as gaura in the wetland ecological garden, and yellow cosmos along the management road. In the lotus pond near parking lots 8 and 9, water lilies decorate the surface of the water, creating a scene reminiscent of a watercolor painting. At Daejeo Ecological Park, perennial verbena and cosmos add to the summer atmosphere.
At the canola field in Mcdosengtae Ecological Park, cosmos and verbena are in full bloom, and the Shindeok Wetland Lotus Complex also catches the eye. If you enter Mcdosengtae Ecological Park along the embankment road that connects Daejeo to the "Nakdong River 30-ri Cherry Blossom Road," you will find the Hajungdo Lotus Pond, which is about five times the size of Sajik Baseball Stadium (approximately 125,000 square meters). A wooden deck for pedestrians allows visitors to view the lotus flowers up close.
Kim Kyunghee, head of the Nakdong River Management Headquarters, said, "Nakdong River Ecological Parks are urban shelters where flowers and walking trails come together in every season," adding, "You can look forward to the colorful summer flowers in summer, and the beauty of Kochia and pink muhly in autumn."
