The launch ceremony, held at Hyundai Motorstudio Goyang in Gyeonggi Province on this day, was attended by company officials including Kim Dongwook, Executive Vice President and Head of Strategic Planning at Hyundai Motor Group, as well as 100 student participants and 20 employee mentors.
This year's program has strengthened its connection with Hyundai Motor Group's key future businesses, such as hydrogen and robotics. Activities include domestic volunteer work, visits to eco-friendly facilities both in Korea and abroad, and proposals for new CSR business ideas for Hyundai Motor Group. Immediately following the launch, participants will engage in group volunteer work and experiential activities for four days and three nights in Uljin, North Gyeongsang Province?an area affected by wildfires where Hyundai Motor Group is conducting ecological restoration?and at the Mihocheon River in Jincheon, North Chungcheong Province. The itinerary also includes a tour of the Bioenergy Center and hydrogen production facilities in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, where students will observe the process of producing hydrogen from food waste. The program's professionalism has been enhanced through collaborative education with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), a leading global environmental organization, as well as lectures by experts in eco-friendly fields.
In August, participants will choose between Singapore and Switzerland for an overseas study trip. In Singapore, from August 11 to 15, they will visit the Singapore Global Innovation Center (HMGICS), Hyundai Motor Group's key innovation hub, to experience advanced technology-based future mobility manufacturing processes such as robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), and explore various eco-friendly landmarks. In Switzerland, from August 21 to 27, they will tour Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility (HHM), the European base for eco-friendly commercial vehicle sales, as well as green hydrogen production facilities, the United Nations European headquarters, and protected natural areas.
Afterward, participants will form teams and, drawing on what they have learned throughout the program and the advice of employee mentors, will propose new CSR business ideas at the completion ceremony scheduled for September 26. Teams with outstanding ideas will receive awards, and their proposals will be considered for implementation as actual CSR projects.
Previously, Hyundai Motor Group recruited applicants from across the country from June 21 to July 4, selecting a total of 100 participants through document screening and interviews.
