Lotte Construction Receives Level 1 Certification for Inter-Floor Noise Insulation Floor Structure

Lotte Construction Receives Level 1 Certification for Inter-Floor Noise Insulation Floor Structure Floor structures for multi-family housing that received Level 1 performance certification for inter-floor noise insulation: 'NonNo-LT500' (left) and 'NonNo-SP60'. Both structures reduce impact and vibration by embedding metal coils inside the floor. Provided by Lotte Construction

On July 21, Lotte Construction announced that a floor structure jointly developed with Anos, a company specializing in inter-floor noise insulation materials, has received the highest Level 1 certification for inter-floor noise insulation performance. The performance evaluation was conducted by the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology.

This floor impact sound insulation structure suppressed both heavy and light impact noises to 37dB or below, meeting the Level 1 standard. The structure uses a vibration isolation device in the form of a metal coil embedded in the insulation material to reduce vibration. This technology introduces vibration isolation techniques, previously used in facility engineering, into floor insulation materials.

The floor thickness has been maintained at 320mm (210mm slab and 110mm finishing), the same as standard apartments. The significance lies in improving performance without altering the structure.

Previously, Lotte Construction obtained Level 2 and Level 3 certifications for structures using materials such as expanded polystyrene (EPS) and ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA). With this Level 1 certification, the company now holds certifications for all levels from 1 to 3.

Meanwhile, Lotte Construction is also developing an inter-floor noise reduction system that can be installed inside ceilings, in collaboration with Seiren Acoustics, a company specializing in acoustic control.

A representative from Lotte Construction stated, "We plan to conduct additional verification to ensure that this structure performs effectively in real-life environments," adding, "We will continue to develop technologies for a better residential environment."
