Public Recruitment for Participants in the International Invited Competition for Conceptual Design from July 21 to 27
Ulsan City is publicly recruiting participants for the 'International Invited Competition for Conceptual Design' for the construction of a world-class performance venue.
This competition is a preliminary step toward creating a world-class performance venue that reflects Ulsan's identity as an industrial capital, its natural environment such as the Taehwagang National Garden, and its future vision of becoming a city of culture and the arts.
Applications for the public recruitment will be accepted from July 21 to July 27.
Eligible participants include those who, as of the announcement date, have officially established and registered architectural firms either in Korea or abroad, or hold equivalent qualifications in their respective countries, as well as architects (or teams) who have designed or delivered performance venues (theaters, concert halls, music halls, etc.) with more than 1,000 seats within the past 20 years.
Joint participation is allowed for up to three firms.

Ulsan City plans to proceed in earnest with the international invited competition for conceptual design after selecting a final six teams on August 18, following an operations committee review of both participants in this public recruitment and architects who have previously submitted letters of intent.
An official from Ulsan City stated, "This performance venue is expected to become a symbolic space that will promote Ulsan's city brand to the world, going beyond a simple cultural facility," and added, "We look forward to the active participation of architects from around the world so that creative and high-quality proposals can be submitted."
