Kang Junhyun, Head of Democratic Party's Sejong City Chapter, Emphasizes "Streamlining Administrative Procedures and Expediting Disaster Relief"

The Democratic Party of Korea's Sejong City Chapter issued a statement on July 19 to offer comfort to citizens.

The city chapter stated that, due to the record-breaking heavy rains that have recently occurred in succession, homes, farmland, and roads have been flooded, causing significant damage and inconvenience. Many have suddenly lost their homes and are facing difficulties. The chapter pledged to do its utmost to establish effective recovery and support measures.

Since July 17, the city chapter has been receiving reports of damage independently, separate from the city government's executive branch.

Kang Junhyun, head of the Sejong City Chapter, along with affiliated city council members, visited the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters on July 19 to inspect the on-site response and receive a report on the damage status from officials.

Kang stated, "We will spare no effort in providing bipartisan cooperation and support for the swift recovery of damages," adding, "This flood should be recognized not just as a simple disaster, but as a warning in the era of climate crisis."

The city chapter plans to closely monitor the scale of the damage and the progress of recovery, and to actively cooperate with relevant departments so that citizens can receive substantial administrative and financial support.
