Ministry of Culture Completes Initial Cleaning and Repainting

The Jongno Police Station in Seoul announced that on July 18, they arrested a woman in her 40s on charges of property damage and are currently investigating her.
The woman is accused of writing the word "Saudi" and other graffiti in red lacquer on the main entrance gate in front of the Blue House Yeongbingwan at around 9:30 p.m. that day.
The police, who were patrolling nearby, discovered the graffiti and apprehended the woman after searching the vicinity.
The police completed their investigation of the suspect in the early morning of July 19, and it has been reported that the woman has been hospitalized.
Meanwhile, immediately after the incident, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Blue House Foundation deployed a specialized company to urgently restore the Yeongbin Gate, which had been damaged by the graffiti.
The initial cleaning and repainting have been completed, and full restoration is scheduled to be finished by July 21 after additional work.
