Held at Geumsan World Ginseng Expo Square from July 18 to 20
Two ginkgo fruits from the Boseoksa Temple tree added to each Samgyetang
A festival is being held where visitors can enjoy a special Samgyetang made with GiftFromSky GeumsanGinseng and ginkgo fruits from the thousand-year-old tree at Boseoksa Temple.
The 5th Geumsan Samgyetang Festival opened with a ceremony at 7 p.m. on July 18 and will continue until July 20 at the Geumsan World Ginseng Expo Square.
This year's Samgyetang menu includes: SamSamhan Herbal Mung Bean Samgyetang (Geumsan-eup), Nokdu Herbal Samgyetang (Geumseong-myeon), Boyangbonga Herbal Samgyetang (Jewon-myeon), Burimat Herbal Mung Bean Samgyetang (Buri-myeon), SangolHerbal Mung Bean Samgyetang (Gunbuk-myeon), FirstClass Premium Samgyetang (Namil-myeon), Boseok Herbal Mung Bean Samgyetang (Nami-myeon), Bobaenokdu Mung Bean Samgyetang (Jinsan-myeon), Bokdengi GinsengScented Herbal Samgyetang (Boksu-myeon), and Manin Herbal Samgyetang (Chubu-myeon).
The Geumsan Culture and Tourism Festival Foundation has collected about 15,000 fruits that naturally fell from the Boseoksa Temple ginkgo tree. Two fruits will be added to each Samgyetang dish, and a total of 7,500 servings will be available in limited quantities.
In addition to Samgyetang, unique menu items will also be available. Four organizations?Geumsan County Traditional Food Research Association, Korea Life Improvement Association Geumsan County Federation, Chubu Perilla Leaf Association, and the Workplace and Factory Saemaul Movement Geumsan County Council?will present items such as perilla leaf rice cakes and ginseng shakes.

Kim Kiyun, chairman of Geumsan County Council, stated in his congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony, "The Samgyetang Festival is not created by just a few people. The Geumsan County Saemaul Women's Association prepares all the food, and various volunteer organizations provide services throughout the event, which is why the festival is so successful."
He added, "Every year, the Samgyetang is made with the utmost care and dedication. I hope you will come to the festival, take care of your health, and be sure to enjoy the taste."

Park Beomin, County Governor of Geumsan, emphasized, "In 2018, Geumsan's traditional ginseng farming method was the only one among all the world's ginsengs to be recognized as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. Building on this, on October 6, 2023, Geumsan declared itself the World Capital of Ginseng."
Governor Park said, "On July 8, the California State Legislature, led by Geumsan County, passed a bill designating October 23 each year as 'K-Ginseng Culture.' I would like to express my respect and gratitude to all the county residents who supported the enactment of this bill."
He continued, "This year's Geumsan Samgyetang Festival features Samgyetang made with GiftFromSky GeumsanGinseng and two ginkgo fruits from the thousand-year-old Boseoksa Temple tree in each serving, offering a truly unique Geumsan-style Samgyetang. I hope you will recharge your energy with your family while enjoying Samgyetang and create many wonderful memories."
