The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on July 18 that it has conducted an emergency survey to assess the damages and management difficulties experienced by local businesses due to the recent heavy rainfall in the region, and that it plans to promptly provide support to affected companies.

This survey aims to comprehensively identify the overall impact on businesses, including factory and workplace flooding, disruptions to logistics and supply chains, production stoppages, and difficulties faced by employees commuting to work, all resulting from the heavy rain.

The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans to quickly gather information on damages from local businesses, including its member companies, through phone calls, emails, and online surveys.

Based on the results of this survey, the Chamber intends to actively recommend to relevant authorities the following measures: prompt support for damage recovery, expansion of financial and tax assistance, and support for the normalization of logistics and business operations. In addition, the Chamber will provide quick consultations and various support information to affected businesses, further strengthening its support activities.

Han Sangwon, Chairman of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, "There are growing concerns about the damages suffered by local businesses due to the recent heavy rainfall. The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry will actively reflect the voices from the field, cooperate closely with relevant agencies, and do our utmost to provide practical support to minimize the damages faced by businesses."
