Four Major National Port Authorities Gather to Discuss Key Issues at Port Operations Council

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) announced on July 18 that the four major national port authorities (BPA, YGPA, IPA, UPA) held the second Port Operations Council at Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority on July 17, where they discussed ways to enhance port productivity and policy improvements.

During the meeting, a total of 10 agenda items were addressed, focusing on: strengthening port productivity and efficiency, sharing operational issues, and identifying needs for the revision of relevant laws and regulations. Specifically, the agenda included two policy items?improvement of the non-governmental port development project system and revision of usage fee regulations?as well as eight current operational issues.

In addition, the council reviewed the progress and future plans for the 12 agenda items discussed at the first council meeting, which was hosted by Ulsan Port Authority last year. The third Port Operations Council is scheduled to be held next year under the supervision of Incheon Port Authority.

President Song Sangkeun stated, "The four major port authorities will continue to cooperate to resolve common issues and strive to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of our ports."
